Pressure Planes 4 & 6 Water System Study

Study and hydraulic analysis for Waco’s western water distribution system.  Pressure recorders were installed throughout the system to obtain field data.  EPANET hydraulic water modeling software was used to analyze the distribution system serving the two pressure planes and the results of the analysis were compiled to formulate the recommended distributions improvements for Pressure Planes 4 and 6.  The analysis also considered critical operating facilities including the pumping system at Old McGregor Pump Station and required storage facilities for each pressure plane.  The results of the study provided the City with a prioritized long-term capital improvement plan to serve the area; identification of cost-effective solutions; distribution pipe sizing and preliminary routes; determination of required storage locations and size; determination of cost efficient pumping options; cost estimates associated with the recommended improvements; and a recommendation for phasing of the plan.
