City of Robinson

Wastewater Master Plan

Walker Partners was tasked to develop the City’s first Wastewater Master Plan. Based on the in-depth evaluation performed on the wastewater system, a 20-year Capital Improvements Plan was developed. The CIP identified system improvements that will be required to accommodate projected future wastewater flow conditions, as well as projects to address state and federal regulatory and operational considerations. Projected land use and anticipated growth rates over the next 20 years were developed and utilized. A CIP implementation schedule was established, initiated by using a risk-based assessment matrix.

Existing sewer lines were analyzed to evaluate pipe capacity to determine if they needed to be enlarged to hydraulically accommodate future flows. Existing infrastructure was utilized to the greatest extent possible. The CIP identified approximately 14 miles of wastewater line in need of replacement.

Of note, the Master Plan recommended projects that will allow the City to decommission 11 of their existing 15 lift stations. This is a very significant improvement for the City in terms of future growth and O&M.
